DT Curriculum
At Osborne Primary School our intention is for children to learn about practical and real-life skills to reflect the constant change and development of the modern world. Children will be taught skills through experience and research, building and deconstructing, all whilst incorporating the technical vocabulary used within Design and Technology. We also encourage children to be creative and innovative, using their thoughts and ideas to help solve current, real-world problems. It is important that children learn to question what they make, evaluate it and improve it if necessary – we want their ideas to be heard and put into practice. Through our DT curriculum, children will be inspired and encouraged to pursue their interests, whether it be textiles, cooking, structures, mechanisms or electrical systems, providing them with as many opportunities to explore these as possible.
