Geography Curriculum
At Osborne Primary School our carefully planned and structured Geography curriculum inspires our children to be passionate geographers who use their geography skills with confidence. Geography allows children to explore, discover and provoke thoughts and questions about the world around them. Children are encouraged to develop a greater understanding of the world, its interconnectedness, their place in it and become global citizens. Teachers create a positive attitude towards geography and ensure learning is accessible to all pupils. Our children experience high quality teaching that elicits and develops their skills on local knowledge, place knowledge, human and physical geography, fieldwork whilst applying geographical skills throughout. As children progress through school, their growing knowledge of the world helps them deepen their understanding of the interaction between human and physical processes and of the formation and use of landscapes and environment. Children will acquire a bank of geographical terms and have a firm understanding of using sources to help them construct their knowledge of the world around them.
